Violence Against Women Act – Tribal Leader Town Hall

The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) will host a virtual tribal leader town hall on the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) on March 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. EDT. VAWA, which passed the Senate on March 10, 2022, includes historic provisions that significantly increase resources for Tribal Nations to exercise restored jurisdiction, strengthening tribal sovereignty and safety across Indian Country. During the virtual town hall, guests will discuss this historic moment for Indian Country, review the tribal provisions in the law, and highlight the next steps for Tribal Nations.
