TYRC Virtual Regional Training: Think Trauma – A Training for Working with Justice-Involved Tribal Youth

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Tribal Youth and Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court grantees in the Southwest and Southern California will be invited to join the Tribal Youth Resource Center (TYRC) for a virtual regional training event on August 3 and 4. The National Native Children’s Trauma Center (NNCTC) will provide training in “Think Trauma: Working With Justice-Involved Youth.”
The training provides an overview of trauma’s impacts, equips providers with knowledge and skills to respond and help justice-involved Tribal youth develop coping strategies, and teaches how to practice staff wellness. At the start of the training there will be a youth panel that incorporates the voices of 3 youth from the region. TYRC Youth Ambassadors and NNCTC youth advisory council members will provide an opening and a closing each day.
Both sessions will run from 8:00-2:00 Pacific / 9:00-3:00 Mountain / 10:00-4:00 Central / 11:00-5:00 Eastern.
A “Save the Date” and the registration information will be emailed to Southwest and Southern California Tribal Youth and Juvenile Healing to Wellness grantees.
