Session Description: The online learning event will highlight:

1) Project Venture is an evidence-based and strength-based outdoor experiential program available to middle-school and high school age students; it is also the only cultural science based curriculumn in the country. Mac Hall, founder of Project Venture, will provide an overview of Project Venture. Dolores Winn, Tribal Youth Coordinator, Saginaw Michigan Tribe, will share the implementation strategies and impact of Project Venture for their Tribal Youth program.

2) Delaney Apple (Lakota) will provide an overview of the Horse Healing Camps he has planned and implemented in Rapid City, South Dakota. Delaney will also focus on the importance of partnerships and community volunteers to sustain cultural & healing based youth programs.

Learning Objectives:

• Increase understanding of experiential learning programs in Native communities and the linkages to strengthening youth protective factors and resilence.

• Increase understanding of the design and scope of Project Venture and capacity needed to implement.

• Increase understanding of the design and scope of a Horse Healing Camp and capacity needed to implement.
