Date: March 4th – July 1st, 2023
Description: The Youth Media Hub is an Indigenous-led arts + liberatory education program starting the first weekend in March and running through the end of June. There are 3 Focus Areas each running between 3-5 weeks long. Students can participate in 1, 2 or all 3 Focus Areas.
- This is a FREE program is intended for BIPOC youth ages 14-19.
- This program will be held once-a-week, and will be primarily located at the Althea Center (Denver, CO) with occasional alternative sites in Denver.
- There is 1 weekly class, held on Saturdays from 10am-12:30pm (unless otherwise stated), with given material to explore until the next class.
- Students must commit to attending all classes in their chosen Focus Area(s). Attendance is mandatory to remain in the program, with the exception of illness.
- The first three classes and the last three classes are mandatory for all participants, regardless of their Focus Area.
- Students can decide whether they want to participate in one, two, or all 3 of the following focus areas: Photography (duration of 5 classes), Audio (duration of 3 classes), or Videography (duration of 4 classes).
- Students who only choose one of the focus areas will have the opportunity to continue projects with the Youth Media Hub Teacher along with regular check-ins until the end of program exhibit.
- The session will end with a group of exhibition of all of the Focus Area participants.
The deadline to apply is February 10th at midnight MT.
