TYRC JHWC Online Learning Event: Re-evaluating the Presence of Culture in the JHWC | March 16, 2023

Session Description: During this session, the TYRC will lead a discussion around raising cultural awareness for youth involved in the Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court. Guests will discuss the ways children have been traditionally valued within community, incorporating those traditional views of youth into legal codes, and current JHWC practices that encourage youth to remain involved in the program after graduation through cultural practices. Guests will provide examples of aftercare where JHWC graduates have stayed active within cultural programming into their adult lives.
